The main advantage of the house is its location near a lake. We wanted to create a space that accentuated the beauty of the landscape. We wanted to delicately integrate it into the interior, hence the imitation of natural forms in some places in the house.
The space is divided into a private area comprising a bedroom, master bathroom and dressing room, and a public area comprising a living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bedroom and bathroom and veranda. Between the areas is the laundry block. The layout is a looped system: there are practically no dead-end rooms, apart from the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the laundry room. The house has a symmetrical shape, which is characteristic of the Art Deco style.
It is located so that the sun shines mainly on the entrance area, while the living room area is less well lit. Therefore, in order to create a chamber-like atmosphere, the author of the project darkened the entrance area and filled the living area with light and air. “Through various decorating techniques, we emphasised the symmetry in the architecture of the space. For example, we balanced the portal between the living room and the hall by installing a decorative panel with the wallpaper used in the hall area. In doing so, we accentuated the symmetry and levelled the heights of the portals with marble surrounds. And with the island sofas, we shaped the complex through-living room and created a comfortable lounge space in front of the fireplace.
“We chose soft halftones and shades of beige and brown as the basis of the colour scheme. They have been used in a variety of materials: stone, wood, bird’s eye veneer. With striking accents in the form of art and decor, the designer has delicately introduced gold elements into the space.”
“In choosing the furniture, we based the choice on the fact that all the pieces chosen had their own striking character, but also that they all had to fit together. We used complexly shaped modular parquet to create a seamless transition from one space to another.
“There are a lot of technical details: the ventilation systems, lighting calculations, fitting the marble, and many other details. Thanks to the team of highly qualified professionals, all tasks were solved quickly and competently.
“I have always wanted to create a design inspired by French elaborate interiors with their intrinsic European lightness, humour and boldness, but without losing luxury and sophistication. We worked in unison with the client, we understood each other at a glance, which helped in the successful implementation of the project.
